Starting Psychotherapy

Perhaps you’re feeling stuck or at an impasse in your life. Maybe you’re grieving a loss, going through a major life transition, or trying to change unhealthy relationship patterns. Perhaps you’re struggling with the angst of living in a world that can feel unstable and precarious. Maybe you’re feeling constrained by self-criticism and perfectionism, or feeling the impact of being treated unfairly because you’re a member of a marginalized group or community. Perhaps you’re dealing with overwhelming anxiety and stress or there’s a general feeling of being unfulfilled in your life. Maybe you’re going through an exciting life transition like a new baby, a new job, or relationship, and want additional support navigating these changes.

Whatever has led you to seek therapy at this time, I believe that meaningful change can occur at any time in our lives. I value intersectionality and work with individual clients from diverse religious, racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I also specialize in working with individuals identified with LGBTQIA+ communities and current and former athletes. Read more about my work with athletes here.

Seeking support is a courageous decision. Undergoing a process of change may stir up feelings of anxiety and vulnerability, which is understandable. There is uncertainty to how things will unfold as we’re giving attention to parts of yourself that may have been ignored or pushed aside for a long time. Therapy helps my clients to feel more alive and free, in touch with their creativity and vitality, and more connected to themselves with increased capacity for building more fulfilling relationships.

Together we’ll work on the things that feel most important to you, move at a pace that feels right, and check in about how therapy is helping you achieve your goals along the way. To inquire about scheduling an initial consult, visit my contact page here.
